About Us

Mission:

A Little Gesture Foundation’s mission is to create the future leaders of Haiti through education by fostering their greatest potential. We have a profound understanding of how access to education contributes to an individual’s level of confidence to pursue their dreams and improve their country. A Little Gesture Foundation will ensure equitable education and resources for children from kindergarten through elementary school by paying school fees, educational supplies, and food.

Vision:

A Little Gesture Foundation is proud to uphold a multi-tiered vision to:

  • Provide educational resources to underserved students throughout Haiti,
  • Foster creativity, collaboration, and interaction across generations and disciplines,
  • Support the educational, physical, and economic health of underserved Haitian communities,
  • Demonstrate community values of stewardship, interdependence, and independence, and
  • Create a coalition of partner organizations for greater efficiency and broader offerings.

About Us

Haiti is a country in dire need of support, specifically in response to its educational needs and need for upward economic mobility. Most people living in Haiti are at elevated risk for major infectious diseases, in most cases because of unsafe water, inadequate housing, poor sanitation, and widespread poverty.

Additionally, adequate educational opportunities in Haiti are alimited. In Haiti, the total school enrollment rate is around 60%[1]. Poverty and marginalization mean that many Haitian children and adolescents cannot attend school. School fees represent at least 15% of the income of the average Haitian. The lack of resources at the family and state levels deprives many children of their right to receive a school education. Approximately 375,000 children in Haiti are between the ages of 6 and 11, and one-third of this group are not in school. Children living in rural areas are the most affected. Not only are support and resources continually needed to support economic development in Haiti, but support is also needed in education, sustainability, and health.

To support the education of youth in Haiti, A Little Gesture Foundation was founded by Frantz-Ley Guerrier and a team of family and friends. A Haitian native and a very hard working person, Frantz-Ley is passionate about providing community resources to uplift youth in Haiti through equitable education and resources. Since 2010, Frantz and his team have helped several Haitian children attend school. A Little Gesture Foundation was created the for Haitian youth to enrich their lives with education, support, and basic living needs, providing a holistic approach to solving some of the biggest challenges plaguing Haiti, such as the high costs of schools. A Little Gesture Foundation will provide school tuition, books, uniforms, and food boxes to youth in need.
